New Bellinger reels? |
Lead | ||
|
Has anyone seen or heard anything about the new reels that Bellinger is developing? With the Mk I gone, I would assume that the new reel will be it's
replacement?

David, I am a dealer for Bellinger. The new reel is the Classic which has an aluminum spool with solid delrin sideplates, serpentine handle, and is reversible.
You can check them out at my website www.leftcoasttackle.com. I have several sizes in stock and can get other
sizes in a couple days. The only size that is not available yet is the 4" spey because they are waiting on parts. What is not shown on my website are the
nickel silver Classics which I believe are available only in a 3.25" but I would have to check. The nickel silver Classics retail for $1300.00 and are in
limited supply. Please let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks. Do you have weights and line capacities for the reels?

I have the Bellinger classic trout reel in 3" plus the 3.5" classic steelhead reel....I like the polished rims over non-polished. The inner plate on
one side is ported to reduce weight. Since I sometimes put the reel in the stream cuz I am dealing with a wind knot, I sometimes get concerned over the
accumulation of sand, dirt or whatever, in the reel.

The inner plate is not ported, which I really like. The reel is beautiful and just perfect in every way. I understand this could be their last batch of reels -- making around 60 of them. Also understand that they may have a few 2 3/4" of them that may be available. |
