Bellinger award is an annual award given to the person within the bamboo rodmaking community that best demonstrates through the rodmakers craft that quality and integrity never go out of style. The winner is chosen by their peers within the bamboo rodmaking community. Past award winners have been Al and Hugh Bellinger, Daryll Whitehead and A.J. Thramer. The fourth annual A.P. Bellinger award goes to Mr. Tom Morgan. Tom was an overwhelming favorite for the award this year. Please join me in congratulating Tom for his award. His contribution to the craft is immeasurable. All of us within the bamboo rodmaking community have benefited from his dedication to the craft. Please email or contact me with your choice for next years winner. Posts: 6 08/14/2008 08:46	Hey All, Sort of a day late and a dollar short for this! First met Tom when my wife and I moved to Twin Bridges in '79, got the chance to make some leather rod cases and eventually he and Glenn gave me the chance of a lifetime to work in the bamboo shop. To this day I remember what Gary Howells told me about him, "The best fisherman I ever knew." For quite a while he lived in Bozeman and commuted an hour and a half every day, each way! I used to joke with him on how he could waste 3 hours a day just driving back and forth. He'd say "Oh no! That's my favorite part of each day where I get to think and not be distracted!" For all of you who know Tom will agree the gears are always churning, and he continues to be as sharp as a tack today. Some who have not had the chance to meet him it would be their loss for not experiencing that wry smile and his sense of humor. One of my favorite stories was how he lost a fly shop in a poker game! He'll always be an innovator and great guy with a great crew and very deserving of this award! Jeff

Posts: 276 09/25/2008 14:04	Very gratifying to see Tom's work over the years recognized. A friend and a real gentleman. I take # 15 out of the tube every once in a while and still marvel at the simple ellegance of this rod. Good on ya mate!!!! Bamboorods
