Dear Kermit,
Today I was very bad, I visited by Quashnet today who brought along many rods by Paul Young and Bob Summers with many lovely Hardy Reels. We spent a lot of time sitting around the house talking about fly fishing which started with flies that were in a Paul Young Catalog, then I brought out flies by the Dette's (Walt, Winnie and Mary), Elsie Darbee, Carrie Stevens Streamers, Art Schenk, a Joe Bates full dress Salmon fly, Bunyan Bugs by both Means and Boehm then we went outside and cast the rods Bob brought and half the rods in Pandora's Box....... After this we came back in and poured through my catalog collection and then I remembered the Salmon Flies by Wallace Doak so we looked at those while we had the home made soup my wife made while we played all day. When do we start our time out?

I'm homeless. I just gave up my sanctuary to a child. It was a wonderful room - a light brown paneled ceiling, skylight over the tying desk, a rustic
bookshelf to the right, complete with, among the books, carvings, empty liquor bottles and a priceless bronze sculpture. There were poems, artwork and trout
stamps on the walls. And scattered about were books and magazines a fox tail, countless bird skins, feather patches and rabbit masks. Ah yes... I'm now
moving into a portable box. The books may see the light of day in the dining room - maybe.
What are ya gonna do??

Strange as it may seem, I like Gary's room better. Kermit, your room is nice, but I would be afraid to use it. Gary's room looks like I do use it. I
used to be a real neat-nik, but I have really lost that part of my character over the years. I guess I have learned to like some sort of orderly chaos. Maybe
teaching school for many years has done this to me, or maybe I have just learned how to be comfortable. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Now, where did I
put.............????

When I was director of development for the National Wild Turkey Federation, I drove the CEO crazy with the piles of paperwork on my desk. He was the ULTIMATE
neatfreak - his secretary even had a map of where the stuff on his shelves went so that after she dusted, it would go back in EXACTLY the same place. I sh_t
you not. Then when I became exec. director of the American Museum of Fly Fishing, the first board president I worked under didn't mind my "paper
management" style at all. Then I got a new one, a REAL micromanaging anal retentive- He couldn't even stand to look at my desk. But I always knew
where even the tiniest piece of paper was, and could retrieve it just as fast as a mega-filer. It's all in what makes ya comfortable; I gave up worrying
about the other guy's habits loooooong ago. To each his/her own.
