At this time of world crisis about economy, poverty, wars... we really have a sunny place where we can warm our souls over this pages. At this time, when nobody are completely sure about their possessions, feelings are a great help and our passion for fishing and for bamboo rods fuel always our minds to the right direction. Time is the most valuable possession and I can assure you that money cannot buy time. Our love for fishing and bamboo rods keeps us always protected against world madness and keep our child side always alive. I selected this board to post my 1000 post because after all, all is about Fishing Bamboo Rods, our loved bamboo rods. I remember my first months when I start reading this Forum from the shadows. I remember myself like a sponge trying to keep everything. I remember great discussions trying to explain the why about my native cane and about my BOBFS. Sorry Banjo at that time when you were a "moderator" I gave you a lot of work I remember learning everyday from everybody, sharing fishing and rodmaking experiences, great moments. This Forum gave me the opportunity of bamboo speaking everyday of my life. This Forum gave me new friends from all over the world. This Forum gave me the great opportunity of show my work from Argentina, a far country at the other side of the world. For all my friends, I don´t want to make names because probably I will miss a few THANK YOU For all the readers of my posts I admire your capability of understand my English and what I try to say THANK YOU For all the new members, this is a long journey and we need all your help to keep this rolling and alive. This is a great legacy for future generations and I'm proud to be a part of it, thank you all for make this possible with your daily participation. We must keep this ball running, specially at this time when everything told us that many economies all over the world are trembling. This kind of times are the ones that strength our passion and help to keep all things in place. I was reading a post about tradition, I have my particular and passionated thoughts about this and I'm more able to think about "continuity" than "tradition", because this word means nearly the same but with a "movement" concept involved. Bamboo rodmaking need always new Payne, Leonard or Dickerson souls, people that become masters after breaking many rules and writing their own concepts. Continuity will be assured with the work of many guys, in good or bad moments, pushing and helping to keep our craft alive and growing maintaining rules and adding new rules to the rules, "thinking out of the box" as we like to say. Rodmakers, fishermen and collectors are needed here. As rodmakers we need fishermen testing our rods and collectors keeping them for future generations, this assures us that we will continue with the work and new findings. Fishermen and collectors helping rodmakers to continue with the work with new rods replacing the ones that have been gone. All together, in bad moments and in good moments... fishing and fighting for our great passion, fishing bamboo rods. I perfectly understand that a rod is not an important priority at this time, many others items fill the priority list, but making a new rod in my case, keep me thinking into the right side and a little far of the world economy shock and fishing a new one for sure put myself into a protected "oasis". Bamboo rods "passed" many cataclysm over the time... wars, Tonkin embargo, glass and graphite invasion... but we are here... showing to all that we are ready to preserve our convictions against all. I hooked and released 5 fish before I took the picture and somehow I only wanted to show the rod.... You've created poetry! Congratulations and Thank you. Arthur
