Tentative Attendance List | #24

Hey Guys, here is the best list I can compile from notes that I have re: "I'm possibly coming...". So help me out... if you are coming and your
name isn't on the list.... holler at me!!! If it is on the list, and you're not coming... holler.
I know a few of the locals will be there as well. There are a couple of local makers that aren't forum members that will possibly attend. We're getting close... so let me know your plans. Thanks; Ralph ATTENDANCE LIST BAMBOO BASH '09

Well, I am kind of on the fence I am afraid. The project I am working got extended until the end of May and I definitely cannot take any time off during the
week. If I come, it will be an early drive up on Saturday. I just got to decide if the long drive is worth the short stay.

I found out last night that my group will be staying at one of the Smoky Cabins, Fish N Bear. Looks like it's the opposite direction from the Docks towards
the hills.

AG,
It's a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG drive from Minneapolis to Townsend, Tennessee. Plan on about 12-16 hours each way. |

I'll be leaving from about 200 miles south of Minneapolis in NE Iowa. Mapquest says that it will be 830 miles from there to Townsend and it is supposed to
take me a little over 13 hours. Still a long drive though.

Loose Ferrules | #34 | ||
|
Just a reminder for all those coming to the Bash; Dave Male will be there Saturday with his Acme ferrule tightener for all you folks with a loose connector!!!
I've got first dibs as I've got a couple rods that have some ferrules with a bit of play.
God knows we should have plenty of water this year. Rain has not been in short supply, so the streams should be just about perfect. There are still rooms available in town, so if you've been dragging your feet, now's the time to make a decision. See you folks there!!!! Ralph |

That's good news about the water situation. I was afraid I might have to find some pontoons or something. It's rained about 14 inches here in Paducah
over the last 10 days or so. My neighbor is thinking about building an Ark....
I sure hope we have a good crowd in Townsend. Looking forward to it. Now if I can just find some sloppy ferrules..... |

Just a little background about the Acme tool. It was designed and built at the US Army arsenal in Watervliet NY. This is where all the big guns(the atomic
cannon) were built for both the army and navy. Now as you can imagine this is still highly classified material and as of this date(5/4/09) the president has
not made any move to declassify this material. When bringing any rod in for work I would ask that no video or phone cameras be present.I am sure you can
understand this for national security reasons. The official name for the tool is: The Acme Supper Dooper Ferrule Snugger Upper. thanks dave Oh I almost forgot
no guarantees.

Mr. Humble | #37 | ||
|
Old Dave is far too humble... quite the guy, and he's worth the trip alone. We really need to get him out on the Little River to give lessons on trout
fishing. He's really spooky... he just stands there and then starts telling you about all the trout on the river.... it's something else.

Check Littleriveroutfitters.com for updates | #38

LRO has a wonderful web site, and they really keep things up to date. The weather is really cooperating with us this year and we have LOTS of water in the
system which is good for us! Byron will not BS you on conditions, so you can really rely on his reports.
Looking forward to seeing you folks. I'm going to start tying up a bunch of extra soft hackles for the Smoky Mtn streams. I've found that they work as well if not better than dry flies, even if the fish are rising. A touch of yellow is a good basic color scheme for the Smoky Mtn streams. Ralph |

Looks like I'll be able to make it to TroutFest this year after all. I'm off of work (hopefully) Friday and may head down Saturday. Not sure what
else is going on for the weekend yet but I'll be through at least for a bit.
