Howdy All,
It has been awhile since I last posted here. Demands and concerns with my aging parents health has been occupying much of my time. Still, I am managing to keep
up my shop time as best I can and deliver rods in a timely fashion. Dad had a heart attack in October and thankfully seems to be recovering as best as can be
expected. We had to place Mom in an Alzheimer's assisted living facility last Saturday which was extremely difficult for all of the family. Dad is living
at home alone now and I know that any notes of encouragement to Charlie at jenkinsrods@aol.com would raise his
spirits. Please respond to my request on the forum as this is something I feel is very important at this time. Thanks to all who might respond to this rather
odd request. Your efforts are truly appreciated. My best to all for the holidays. May God bless us all through these challenging personal and economic times.

Howdy Again,
I needed to thank all of those who have responded to this post. Dad has been thrilled and deeply touched by all of your heart felt messages. This surely helps during a difficult time for our family and I continue to pray for the best. I wanted to take this time to send my appreciation to those who have emailed Dad, as I can not promise that he may be able to respond personally to all of them at this time, though I know he would surely want to. Steve,
I just now read your thread about your mom and dad and I thought I'd drop a line. Although we've never met I've always followed the work of 'Jenkins Fly Rods.' Tell your dad that his work has touched a lot of us, even those who may not have had the honor of owning one of his rods. They are truly a work of art. I recently lost both my mom and dad. Both had long lives. Since I lost dad to Alzheimers and know the problems that that illness causes in the family. Take care and God bless your family. Don B. |
