Take a digital photo. Make it 675 pixels wide which should nicely fit in a laptop screen. Make it JPEG format. Save it to your hard disk.
Go to http://photobucket.com/ , click "Join Now" and open an account (next time, you'll access your Photobucket account with username and password, and log in). Click "Browse." Find your prepared JPEG image on your hard disk. Click "Upload." Go to the Classic Fly Rod Forum. Start a new thread or post to an old one. To post your photo, click the "insert image from Photobucket" icon (the black-and-white icon that looks like a huge round camera lens). Your image (or images and folders once you've used photobucket for a while) will appear. Click on your image and it will appear in your message wherever the cursor was last set in your text block. Click "Preview" to ensure that it looks the way you want; adjust as necessary. Then click "Post."
Quashnet's Paul H. Young Rod Database has photos and descriptions of over
390 PHY Co. rods, plus catalogs, accessories, etc. Thank you to all
who continue to send me PHY rod photos and info.

The "insert image from Photobucket" icon is not on my screen? So, I had to do it a bit differently, maybe because I am using a MAC?
So while in Photobucket I copied the IMG code and then pasted it in, which results in the picture appearing.

Nice mayfly! There are always various ways to accomplish a task and copying the IMG code works great too. On a Mac, you should be able to see icons above the
text box into which you type your message (at least if you are working in Firefox. My impression is that the browser you are using is sometimes more important
than whether you are using a Windows or Mac OS). Place the cursor over each icon and a description of its function will pop up. The icon I referred to will pop
up with "Insert image from photobucket."

I've posted photos before, but now I'm having a problem. When I click on the photobucket icon, nothing happens. I am logged in to the photo bucket
site, and yuku. Any ideas? Only thing different is I recently downloaded IE 8, and haven't tried to post a picture until now (I think).

Photobucket definitely did not support IE8 when it was in beta, and may not do so at this time. Check the Photobucket FAQs; scroll to the Browser and OS FAQ section.

I have IE8 now and discovered I can't upload Photobucket photos. I checked and the browser is set to enable active scripting, but it still won't work.
What's the solution?
EDIT: I stumbled on the solution -- use the "Compatibility Mode" button on IE 8 and the uploads work just fine.
