I have an early coke bottle , sliding band, 9' 3/1 rod marked "the granger rod" on the all ns reelseat. What is the proper wrap pattern for the
rod? also, the tip ferrule is 12/64ths. Which model is it? 9053? thanks in advance

jz2: The wrap pattern is nearly the same as the later Granger DeLuxe. B&W jasper, double or triple-tipped yellow with signature wrap on butt.
BTW, if the ferrules are 18/12, it's a 9050 like mine.

I think most would probably use a 6 wt. on it.
That said, the Second Era Goodwin Grangers can be somewhat "softer", in my experience, than the later Third Era and Wright & McGill rods due to Bill Phillipson's "tweaking" of the tapers. Hope this helps! Regards again, Scott |
