Posts: 1 01/11/2009 04:21	Tags : None Hello- Just thought I'd introduce myself here pretty quick. My name is Ethan, I live in Poulsbo, WA. I'm a college student planing to transfer to WSU (go Cougs!) next fall. I like to fish my local lakes and high country streams in the Olympic Mountains. I also fish the local rivers for salmon and steelhead, and Puget Sound for various species. Like most of you here, I am addicted to fly fishing. My latest pet project has become restoring/refurbishing an old H-I Governor. Yeah, I know it's a pretty lame rod by most standards, but I like it. I'll post some pictures of the finished project here. I really have enjoyed the experience of restoring an old rod and giving it new life. I see many more dollars flying out of my wallet in the future. So anyway, I'll be periodically stopping by to ask questions and gain some knowledge on these vintage rods. You guys seem to have an abundance of knowledge on the subject, so I'll take some of that off your hands. Maybe I'll even contribute some of my limited know-how. -Ethan

Be sure and check out the Clearwater Fly Casters, who meet in Moscow, I think still. They are a great group of people, and you will learn lots about the area's fishing, and even a bit about bamboo. www.clearwaterflycasters.com I scheduled my classes to have 3-day weekends every semester and spent them exploring new fishing holes. PM me if you have any questions. Head to the Traditional Sportsman in Lewiston and talk with Mark Lamb on refinishing your rod. He has components and thread, and can get in what he might not have. My wife is taking classes at the local WSU campus here, and my sister graduated from WSU - Go Cougs!! I make a trip or two up to the Olympic mountains every year and usually camp around Brinnon and Seal Rock. It's sort of a pilgrimage for me. Some mighty beautiful country there that reminds me of Alaska. One of my ultimate quests is to catch a Beardslee (BlueBack) Rainbow on a fly. Posts: 4 01/15/2009 13:46	The rebuild is nearly complete now. I have to wrap and varnish one more section. Brinnon is aways a good jumping off point for trips into the mountains. Next time you're up there try a backpacking trip up to Marmot Lake, approx. 20 miles one way. There's no fish in the lake, but it is a beautiful area.
