Pick up "Open Season" by William Humphrey today. Anyone read this? Is it any good? The cover was a picture of a guy fly fishing so I had to get it.

The Spawning Run is one of the all time greats!!!I re-read it at least a couple of times per year. Pre-Geirach if you know what i mean

Know what you mean Hardy Guy. These stories in Open Season are up there with McGuane in an Outside Chance - tops. I like the ones called "Cast and Cats
Again" and "Bill Breaks His Duck" - the Spawing Run is in Open Season, as well as My Moby Dick, two pieces he is well known for..... terrific
stuff.

Just finished reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I won't know if it is actually his signature until after i get he book and do a little research. However, for the price , who cares? It will be cool if it is a signed copy though. Time to go looking for hand-writing comparisons. Hardy Guy
