4 piece rods? |
Lead | ||
|
I'm curious about 8' & 8.5' 4 pc rods. Does anybody fish these? I have 2 (3/2) rods, but have never fished a 4 pc bamboo rod. Any
thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.

I have a 4pc 8ft Orvis bamboo travel rod that I fish with. Its is a very nice rod at a convenient length (disassembled). I also have a 4pc 7ft Orvis bamboo pack rod. Both rods are great to travel and fish with. |

I also have one of only 16 (4/1) Orvis "Travelers" made.
Mine is an 8 1/2-footer for a 6 wt. It's a very nice rod for larger western rivers and perfect for packing in and/or airline travel. Regards, Flyman

Welp.....rod length when broken down is not an issue with me. I don't like more than a 3 piece rod......period. Not that they don't have their place as
they do, especially if one travels by air. I don't, the rods don't so therefore more than 3 piece rods don't appeal to me at all. So I probably
shouldn't have posted.....

I have a Thramer Hollowbuilt 4pce 81/2 5wt with also an xtra grip for a 6'4" 4/5wt. Both are very nice medium fast action.
Any AJ rod is great. This is truely a great travel rod. I have 2 Lancaster: Savage River 7'2" Driggs like great small stream 4wt A Bighorn 7'6" 5/6wt which is a nice do it all taper, I think may a takeoff of a Martha Marie wuite powerful not a dinker fish rod in any way. Both Lancaster's are also very nice packable and very useable. |
