Which rod, that you have acquired since last season, are you most anxiously looking forward to fishing this year?

My Chris Carlin SH 8'2" 5-wt. I've used it a dozen times or so since I got it in December. Easily one of the best rods I've ever casted in my
30+ years of fly fishing.

8' 5 wt. hollowbuilt rod from David Norling. I have only been able to lawn cast it once since I got it last month and I cannot wait to get it on the
water. Beautiful rod, casts like a dream from a man I admire a great deal. What could be better?
Pat "He told us about Christ's disciples being fisherman, and we were left to assume...that all great fishermen on the Sea of Galilee were fly
fisherman and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman."

I have a Folsom Model 1515 made by Heddon, an 8' 1 3/4f that I think will be a nice all around rod. It's ready for it's final coat of varnish this
week.

No question...an 8'4" 2/2 4wt hollow-built by Erik Peterson of Linnea Rods. I had massive, reconstructive shoulder surgery in late December and
won't be able to cast until April or May. The wait and the suspense are killing me!

A John Pickard made 8014 guide. It's one of 20 rods he's building using only materials and tools from Dickerson's original shop which he acquired
from Jim Schaff last fall. Obviously it's going to have pre-embargo cane and the reel seats are going to be wood that Dickerson himself harvested from a
tree in own yard. I think it's going to be a very special rod in my collection and I'll be torn as to whether I should fish it at all.
I think this collection that John is building is going to strongly boost his already fine reputation. |

I'm anxious to give two rods a try; an FE Thomas 8' 3/2 Browntone recently restored by Bob Nunley that I had conversations with both Banjo and Marty
Keane about at the time of purchase and I am anxious to re-connect with an Orvis 8' 3/2 Pat. Pending 5XXX.

Well, they aren't new, but I look forward to fishing my 6.5 ft. Thramer (based on a 6611 taper) and 7 ft. Phillipson. Both rods have been well used, so
the "newness" won't be what determines the exitement, it's the fact that these are my small stream dry fly rods and fishing them means the
season is officially here. I just can't wait to see big flies on little creeks with trout at the surface eating bushy flies....... my favorite type of
fishing.

I got a Mike Brooks midge (6'2" 2/2 3wt) and an AJ Thramer FE Thomas (8' 3/2 4wt) over the winter that I cannot wait to try out when the trout
season opens here next month.

For me its a WM Granger 8040 and a Heddon Model 17 8ft 1.5f. The Heddon was a Christmas gift from my wife and the Granger was my Chritmas gift to her.
Can't wait.
