Hi all First thanks for all your help. My question is, what is the ideal size for the strips to be before you start planning in the final form? I am planing on
using a molding machine to do my rough beveling. Thanks again Paul

Paul, It all kinda depends on what the biggest dimension on the finished strip is. You can rough bevel tip strips to a smaller dimension than you can for butt strips. I'd go about 20 - 40% larger than your largest final dimension for each section if you want to go that route. That still gives you plenty of "meat" to correct bad angles before you reach final dimensions. Mark

If you're going to use a machine to rough bevel and taper the strips, then it all depends on the machine. Some leave cleaner edges behind than others, so
you can cut closer to final dimension, cutter sharpness also affects this.
Basically, you'll have to experiment to see what you can do with yours. jphn |
