A recent thread here got me thinking so this morning I went to White Clay Creek with a Quad and Terenzio silk line. I froze my tail off but caught 4 trout in a
bit over 1.5 hours. I had ice in the guides but sticking the rod in the water cleared that for the cast and the Terenzio line worked very well with no real
coiling problems as others have stated they have experienced. Anyone else fishing Terenzio silks when temps are below freezing and there is ice on the edges of
the streams and NOT having coiling issues? The next sub freezing day I am going to use a hex 3 wt w/Terenzio line just to see if it's the 5.5wt line that
doesn't exhibit severe coiling in the cold. I realize one day and one line doesn't really make a case one way or the other but I had to see if it had
coiling issues in sub freezing weather as some have stated. I know my silk lines work great spring/summer/fall just never fished them before in sub freezing
temps till today (I use plastic lines just because silk is so $$$ to mess up on a piece of sharp ice usually ..... I know ... call me cheap
)
