Good evening-did a search earlier today as I am interested in purchasing a fishing/field bag. Historically had a Filson Small Carry On, did not like the zipper
or leather and brass straps. Notice the number of Chapman and Brady bags on the board. Curious about those with Filsons-which one are you using? I am leaning
toward medium tin cloth field bag to get away from leather and brass fittings, which, although stylish, are loud. The Tin Cloth comes with webbing and plastic
buckles which are more quiet. Any input is appreciated within the Filson line. Thanks.

I don't like the leather straps on American-style bags.
Much prefer the wide canvas strap on the Brit bags. You can slide the Brit bag around to the middle of your back and it stays there.
the rods are never obsolete - the marketing is.

I used a Filson for a while, but switched to a Chapman for the reasons Bulldog stated. The Filson's a quality bag, but I found the straps uncomfortable for
all day use.

I concur with Bulldog and Aransas about the size of the shoulder straps. The wider English offerings are far more comfortable than their thin American
counterparts. Love my Chapman to say the least. Bulletproof, stylish, and very practical. I have an extra bag I am looking to get rid of on my profile if
interested.

I got a Filson small field bag used about a decade ago. The strap is 1" wide but the shoulder protector is about 3". My only issue with it is that
when climbing banks it will tend to slip around in front of you and since you often have both hands occupied you just have to let it hang there. It is a
sufficient inconvenience that in 150 years when it wears out my great great grandson will probably get some other brand.

I've been looking for a replacement for my old LL Bean shoulder bag and WOW, the Chapman bags are nice! Is there a US distributor or do I have to order
directly from Merrie Ole England?

BHAREN-I think a company called British Sporting Arms LImited has some in stock, they are in downstate NY, and you might want to try London trading Company (?)
or something similar to that name in Atlanta. they do Barbour coats and related, and may carry Chapman. I have never been there but have seen their ads in
magazines.

I've noticed that William Joseph is showing a new bag on their website this year. I believe they call it part of the "old school" series. Since my local shop doesn't have one in yet I was wondering if anyone has seen one yet.

Hi FF Beginner ! I currently have an "old School" Chest pack I use and I like it a lot. I wear it as a shoulder bag though, I have a barrel chest anyway and I hate
to wear a "traditional" chest pack (I look like I have full parachute with a reserve 'chute on too!) besides, I hate to strip a retrieve around
all that crap hanging off my chest or waist.
