Posts: 180 03/17/2009 16:48	Tags : None Picked up a nice Leonard Tournament at the DC Trout Unlimited show last weekend. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of when it might have been made. The rod is 9ft, 4 7/8oz and casts a DT5 quite nicely. It has agate tip tops, reverse twist snake guides and a non-agate stripping guide. The grip is just under 6" in length and is made from 3/8" cork rings. The bag is tan and looks original and has an original sack tag. The case has Leonard fittings and look almost too new to be original, although it may be original. All sections full length and straight. The sack tag has the following information by line WMO (assumed to meand wound mount only) H. L. Leonard Tournament Chr____ or Cha_____ (can't read the rest of the letters) Agate Tops 4 7/8 oz 51 DF The butt cap has the following markings: The Leonard Rod H. L. Leonard Rod Co. Posts: 267 03/17/2009 19:30	William Mills Order.Looks like a 50"s rod by the color of the bag and the use of fountain pen on the tag.Possibly early '60's pre fire.Does it show signs of a refinish?

My other Leonard Tournament rod, the 50 1/2 that I showed to you at last year's Catskill gathering is now in the hands of Bob Taylor for repair to the one tip. Thanks for recommending Bob to fix the tip. Thanks Bob
