I've recently acquired an H. L. Leonard 9' 3/2 rod and I'm looking for feedback on the line to use. I'm not sure of the model number. It
weighs 5.3 oz. and the ferrules measure 17/11. It has tan silk wraps with red trim, swelled butt and a butternut wood downlocking reel seat with all the H. L.
Leonard insciptions. It came in the alloy tube with the brass end caps. I don't know if it's a model 51 or not. As I've looked around, it seems I
should cast a WF-7 or DT-7. I even found a blurb suggesting a DT-8. Does that sound right?
On another note, I'm not new to fishing bamboo, I inherited my grandfathers 8 1/2' South Bend 323, years ago. I've started to put together a few rods and have enjoyed this forum greatly. Keep up the good work.
