It is nothing wrong when some Lawyers or Dentists buy the reel and put it behind glass to look at it. But If you have to save your money to buy this reel and
would like to fish it, it could be that you are disappointed because of the weight it is not a very practical reels to fish like a Hardy or others. I
speaking here form the Perfection Trout Reel the Peerless Trout Reel would be maybe ok. And always this bad feeling for every scratch you could get on the
reel.

Hello! No problem, scratches can easily be polished out and add to the Patina, try this with an anodized reel!
Weight is like the originals, depending on your choice of spoolplates in either nickelsilver or aluminium. Brake system of Perfection adds only some grams compared to Peerless. Best Wolfhard |

"It is nothing wrong when some Lawyers or Dentists"
I sense some bitterness here, the reality is that no one needs to spend more than a $100 on any trout reel. These fish are not salt water rockets so how much you choose to spend is entirely a personal matter. I can blow up a duck with Remington 12 ga. from Wal Mart just as well as a Holland and Holland side by side, in the end the duck is dead. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I offer the Holland & Holland Paradox as an example, a mere 44,000 pounds sterling which is $64,500 US, do you think the duck cares? http://www.hollandandholl...action_sidelock_paradox/ |

When you asked "Who do you want to hear from?"
I would be interested in speaking to anyone who owns a Perfection type reel from the bench of Janciuras, Larabee, or Saracione. If it is a metal side plate version, so much the better. Raised pillar even better. Again: com.gmail@splitcane Thanks Chris

Janciuras is a master! | #28 | ||

First of all... Vom hoff was a jeweler... and Joe spent thousands of $$ for tooling Just to make these magnificant reels.. Not just anyone can make a reel
like this.. it's all hand made.. hand polished.. and 60 hours of hard work just for one reel... Now, mind you I am a 60 year old retired housekeep and a
fly fisher and I can attest that when I fish with Joe's reels it is by far the smoothest... no fumbling when you have to set the drag.. it's right
there... it's an awesome reel.. And they are getting better with each one he makes... I am by no means rich but I am rich for being able to test fish
these reels for Joe..
If you were fishing near me on any stream..I can blind you with the shine from this reel while fishing......Joe is truly a master of this Gorgeous Reel... If you want pic... just e-mail me... or go to his web site... |

great topic
i have been a reel junky for some time , i class all these reels as bench hand made reels , there is nothing any finer , and in truth all we need for fishing is a cheep reel that would cost no more then a couple hundred bucks , but we all don't have the same size wallets , some are thinker then others , the ? was do them 2 reels compare , i have had the billenger/ Saracione , i'll not own another , now when you talk about the very best saracione , thats a really good classic reel and always fetchs over the 1000 to 1500 , and i don't think it is as good or as nice as the Janciuras reel , yet it don't cost as much also , saracione, bogdans , hermanns , peeless , godfreys all good reels , and they don't cost as much as the janciuras reel , his reel is priced i think about right for what your getting , most wonderfull reel i have ever held in my hands , and i also think alot better then the ones made years ago , i have held all them reels and even got to use a couple of them for trying out his will never hold the value of the correct orignal reel , that just happens with all makes of reels , put his new one on a table with a brand new old orignal VH and i'll grab the old one for a value to collect , yet to fish i would grab his if my wallet was as thick as most of yours , IMHO after having my hands on most of these reels that your all talking about , the best one that i like and i hope you guys don't jump on me as again just my opinion , is the M Noel in his new 150 trout model , i just got 2 of them after a forum member sent me his to look at and check it out , his reels are just wonderfull and super smooth drag , now even if it's a copy of the bogdan drag , his drag is in a trout reel and stans reels are bigger to get that drag , is it overkill , yes maybe , but when your passing out money why not get the best for your buck , one i had made up a extra 1/4 inch wider as i like the wide drum reels , the other went to a forum member which he is still drooling down his shirt front , if my wallet was very think then yes i'd buy a janciuras reel , as it is not that thick then imho again , best bang for your buck on these classic bench made reels is hands down the new noel 150 trout reel , you'll never beleave how well they are made and put togeather ,

here is his website , great guy to chat with , some of the dealer sites will carry them for $1500 to $2000 , if you call him yourself and chat with him he
will treat you very good , have a look at the 150 trout reel and look at the drag system in the reel , he'll also do just about whatever you want for a
reel , i had mine open up a little wider , i can't say enough about his reels and they are just very well made reels , he uses delrin for the side plates
and have a look at what he makes his frames out of , you never got to worry about scratches on it , the drag system is about as good as you can get IMHO and
it's the same kind of system as his big salmon and steelhead reels and bogdans have the same kind of drag system , just not in a trout reel , this drag
in a trout reel is very smooth and if you do need a little extra power for a big fish , it's in it to do it ,

I have fished the Noel Reel 150 for three years now and it is a superb reel. I can highly recommend Mr Noel's workmanship it is without a doubt the best I
have come across in many years of flyfishing.
I must confess to being a reel junky and own a number of reels made by famous American makers of the past and Mr Noels work is on par with most of them and much better then some of them. By the way there is a picture of me using his reel on one of the local streams on Vancouver Island on his website.( am a little prejudiced because he is a Canadian? Perhaps) Petri Heil Uwe
