I'm thinking about making my own sliding rings for reel seats. Anyone here make them? What tools do I need? Where do I get raw materials? Thanks!

Hi Steve - There are a few ways to go about it. It becomes much easier if you have a metal lathe. There is a tutorial at www.bamboorodmaking.com that will give
you the basics of making them from tubing, but you could make them from solid bar as well. Check out the tutorial, and contact me with any questions.

Thanks Tom. I have a Jet mini-lathe. Not sure if it will suffice or not, but I'll check out the tutorial.
