We are pleased to announce the Second Annual Bamboo Fly Rod Classic to be held May 9, 2009 from 11-4 at the beautiful Rose River Farm in Central Virginia. Sponsored by Albemarle Angler, Virginia Sportsman Magazine, and Rose River Farm,
bamboo fly rod enthusiasts are invited to join us for a full day of sharing classic fly rods, casting, and fishing for trophy rainbow trout on the Rose River
in Madison, Virginia. We want it to be a day for those that share the passion of cane to come together to share and appreciate each other's valued
collections of historic and traditional fishing tools. All those who appreciate bamboo fly rods are invited. Local makers will also be present giving
seminars on differing aspects of handmade cane rod construction. Sale tables will be available for those that are interested in sale or barter of bamboo rods
or collectibles. In addition, we will be offering a full lunch and wine tasting from local vineyard during the day not to mention fishing some of the best
trout water in central Virginia. There are also multiple opportunities for mountain brook trout fishing on the nearby Rapidan, Rose, and White Oak Canyon
streams and even the well stocked ponds of the Farm.
