just got back from the trout & salmon sponsored "tweed fair" , it was a bit disappointing cos there was nothing for my kids to do , i thought
there might be a bouncy castle or trampolines or some bloody thing , what under 5,s want to see fly tying or casting competitions, i ended up taking them to
edinburgh zoo . i did however manage to find this J.B. moscrop manchester reel

, its all brass , solid milled
frame , spool mounted tension , 4.5" dia.. horn handle etc , i been looking for a good example of this reel 4 ages , ok its not the greatest reel in the
world but its one of those reels that every collector must have at least one of , this is a great example in a1 condition , it will go on a ron thompson rod
(£60) loaded with a john noriss budget sink tip (£7) i will splash out a few quid on a maxima leader and use one of my own flys , and i will get more fish than
those most of the guys i met today who have over £1500 of loop/hardy/sage etc gear , let the good times roll , i reserve the right to withdraw this post once i
sober up in the morning..
