Very nice MJF. Can I ask what type of wood the reel seat filler is? Black Walnut?

Thank you.
I believe it is walnut, but I really do not remember since I have had the seat a few months. It is from REC though so they may have a pic of the inserts on the web site. |

What taper would the rod approximate?

It remins me of a 38h leonard without the swelled butt. even though the 38h is a two pc. it still has that full flex sweet casting motion. another rod closely
matching it would be the devine fairy in a 71/2 2pc. for a 3wt.

Stephen'
Thank you and it Cast as well or better than it looks. I had it on the foot ball field for a few test cast before it headed off to its new home. And I Was consistently dropping a piece of yarn on the hash mark at 20 yards from the goal line. And it holds a very nice loop. very very accurate and it has that certain feel of a Hawes tapered rod. And I know its new owner will fish the heck out of it;-) Jeff |

Hello Dennis,
the flaming is made on the raw culm before stripping. Here you can see the tecnique http://www.bamboorods.it/rods_blog_1b.htm After the flaming the effect is made using a 2X stagering of the strips. Best Marco |
