Anyone know the best way to blacken aluminum reel seat hardware?I know there is a product called Aluminum black,but I heard that is only for touch up.Any

I believe the only sure and permanent way of blackening aluminum is by anodisation.Not really a task for the hobbyist ( I am sure someone will correct me
here............)

There are bluing products specifically for aluminum.

Birchwood Casey makes an Aluminum Black product but I've never had much luck with it.

If you're trying to blacken aluminum that's already been anodized, then Aluminum Black won't work. All of the aluminum reel seat components with
which I'm familiar are already anodized (clear, pewter or black).
