I have an antique bamboo rod that I need to have ID'd. It looks very high end and nicely built, but has no identifying labels, marks, or anything else. The
handle is wrapped with woven medium coarse string. Several pieces. Thanks, Alan

Sorry, need sharper pics of the ferrules and a good pic of the reel seat might be helpful, But that rod in any event will be hard to ID.

I have a rod that looks a lot like that one with the red bands going up the rods, I'm sure they are related. Has the same type of case to. WIsh I had an ID

The 1878 Bartlett catalog shows the spiked ferrule braided butt bass rod almost exactly as the pictures shown. It's hard to tell if this was a
Chubb/Montague/Bartlett example, but I'm sure it was one of them.

I'm with Peter on this one, Chubb/ Montague. I have 4 of these rods and each are like the one pictured above, as to ferrules, reel seat , grip check, etc.
However each of my rods have a different grip material, and none of them are cork. Also all the form cases are the same and rather well made, but different
than the one pictured above. There is also a diff. in the guides used, 3 have trumpets (Monty?) the other has 3 coil spirals (Chubb?)
