Hi:
I just bought a J.S. Sharpe Scotty Model "79". It is a 7'9", 2/2 in a 5-6 wt. It is interesting in that the sections are not of equal length. The tip section is longer than the butt section, similar to the Orvis Far and Fine graphite rod, also a 7'9" rod . I had it out on the lawn to try it out last night and I am finding it a little different, but I think I am going to like it. I would say that it seems to be a very slow rod and I felt like it would be excellent for small streams and casts 40 feet or less (my kind of fishing). Have any of you had any experience with this rod? I would appreciate any opinions. It seems well made although I thought the reel seat hardware was nothing to write home to mother about.
Thanks,
