Hello folks. My sad story is that I was just checking out my Orvis CFO III reel today, and I find that it has sustained damage
. The "T"portion of the reel body that supports the line guard has
broken off, leaving the line guard attached by one screw. No sign of the broken-off bit; last time I used the reel was probably before a deployment to
Afghanistan. The question then: is a repair possible? Likely I could bodge something together with JB weld and scrap aluminum that would be strong enough, but
if there is a pretty repair that can be done it would be good to know. I'll check with Orvis after the weekend too. Thanks GWW
