Fished it the last four days - lots of flies on the water - white caddis -14 - little sallies 14 - black caddis 14 - black mirco caddis 18 - pmd's - fished it hard and caught a lot of fish - the fish seemed to be running larger than I remember in the Firehole - 10-12 inches. Lots of rainbows with a few browns thrown in for some interest. The weather did not cooperate - rain, wind, and some threats of snow. I did use a nice Reams Howells 7'9" for a 3-4 - the fish gave it a work out. Hooked a lot of fish - some of them weeded me - lots of spalshy rises - did not cover a lot of water - fished fountain flats at the hot spring - hooked a lot of fish and had lots of company as Firehole is fishable and open. DId hit the Gibbon - I am trying to fish some different water - but the Firehole is my favorite behind Lamar - which is currently blown....
