This is a great forum, the wisdom it contains is phenomenal.
Having been fly fishing for over 45 years, it interesting to see that alot of the equipment I bought new is now considered classic. It would be nice to think that fly fisher get better with age, just like rods and reels, but I know better.
Both my wife and I are recently retired (that sounds better than saying both of us were canned from our jobs and that there is not a job to be found in the state of Michigan). Now we spend our time as starving "craftspeople". I make furled leaders, my wife makes rod socks/bags. My wife has always enjoyed sewing as a hobby, she has been making rod bags for some of our local rod building friends for the last 12 years or so. Now that she has some time, she can up her production. Pretty much a similar story with the furled leaders, been making them for friends for a long time, then started to get requests from friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends, etc.
It is nice to be out of work during the summer in Michigan, my home river is the Muskegon out of Newaygo. Let me know if you are ever visiting the area, I'd be happy to share some info.
