Yippee! I got the BOOK! As they say..."Well worth the wait". I thought I'd share some photos of a neat reel I've had for a while and now
know considerably more about, thanks to "Rupe'.
It is the Young Pattern 2A, Contracted with exposed palming rim...a very neat design. As you can see, it is stamped with the maker's name, but also, its original owner 'engraved' (a euphemism for 'scratched') his name near the maker's mark. "E. White - Oxford".
Since I believe that the Young stamp on these early reels usually appeared on export reels, it's interesting that Oxford is scratched on...Maybe it's Oxford, Mississippi!
