I'm trying to match the thread colors of a couple of 9.5' Leonard Tournament rods. I cut the wrap off my parts rod and find it has three colors: Chinese Red, Purple/Primrose and a Tan/Beige/Pongee/Gold...

The silk on my rod is very sun faded and even cutting the wrap off and looking at the underside of the wraps, I'm still having trouble deciding what the original colors were. I've pretty much decided on the red and going with the vintage Rice's silk which has a touch of orange in it, although I've read Leonard used Gudebrod thread which I also have...

The purple tipping was more of a primrose color, but it could have been purple originally and due to the fading it now looks primrose...

And then there's the beige/tan/gold/goldenrod... Does anyone have recommendations for this color? I've got every color plus about 10 more shades of beige...

This can be problematic when you have too many colors to choose from... Any help appreciated...
