Hit the local tailwater today. Lots of fish on dries and in the film....... head and tail emerger rises.... found a pod of fish rising steadily near a
log..... caught 3 they stopped rising .... nice fish all around 12"... they started up again in a few minutes.....closer to the log bloop bigger
fish rose.... mmmm moved a few feet to get a shot at her.... she was more than just a little better than the others.. as I was backing toward shallow water
and as usual talking her in..... I was telling her "lucky it was me and not one of those worm dunkers all I want you for is a picture" A very kind
gentlman was fishing upstream came down for a look and kindly took these for me chatted for a moment or two and it truly reminded me that while there are a lot
of imbeciles and rude idiots around nowadays there are an awful lot of polite friendly people in our sport as well.... I gave him one of the flies that was
working but he seemed to be doing ok on his own..... I revived her she hung out in the shallow water for a few minutes and then took off .... 6x is not my
choice of tippet size for fish like this near logs but boy did that old perfect sing like crazy fat healthy fish and very very thick........that old granger
is fast becoming my favorite rod (seems to have mojo ) .... All in all a great day and a pleasant reminder that the cretins have not taken over completely...
