My father is looking to sell this rod, and asked me to poke around to see if I could find some information about its current value for him, and/or a source for selling it. (I live in a more fish friendly place than he does, so he thought I might have better luck). If it isn't worth too much, I might consider buying it myself for sentimental reasons.

Any information on its value would be appreciated, and what a rod with these specs might be useful for, given that it's a 9 wt. (largemouth bass?)

This is the information he sent me:

Orvis Battenkill, 2 piece, 2 tips,
8-1/2 ft., 5-1/8 oz. Walnut reel seat, 9 wt. Serial no. 73110 (circa
mid 1970s). Original Orvis dark aluminum tube and dark green cloth
interior slip case. My name is inscribed (by Orvis) near the butt,
just under the rod identification information. Nearly mint condition

Thanks,

Andrew
