For those of you who will be going east and taking I-40, a major rock slide has closed the interstate at the TN-NC border. You will either need to take I-81
up to Johnson City and hit I-26 down to Asheville, or take the overmountain route through the GSMNP.

The Parkway would make a pleasant detour around the slide area, but I-81 to I-26 might be a bit faster. I plan to go, probably on Saturday--it's only
across town, after all, and I never seem to get down to the show in Charlotte.
