We would love to see pictures of your Baillie rods and ephemera. And he is one of the early pioneers of rod making in the maritime provinces.
One of the lesser known makers but he was one of the true craftsmen of the trade at that time Jeff

Raymond, I think you and I have had contact about these rods before ( on another board) but that was some time ago. As I told you then, what I think I know
about Baillie rods is whats in A.J. Campbell's book. However I'd also like to see some pictures of his rods and a picture of his card would be great.
If you think about it for a moment that card may be rarer than his rods. These items should be of interest to anyone that likes antique rods. What are these
items worth, I have no idea.
Although I've never handled a Baillie rod I've had 3 Scribner rods and still have 1. I've seen the Scribner rods go for $100 to well over $1000 but I don't ever remember a Baillie rod coming to market. If it were me, I'd hang onto these items, you may never se the likes of them again. Bruce |

Hi, Bruce and Gnome, and all ..
I would never sell any of these items, I have , well three wonderful sons , and one of them has the love of this old stuff like I do, the other two boys, they love fly fishing as well .. One thing I have not mentioned here is that I have a blank, a Lancewood or green hart blank, yet to be planed to a rod.. Here are the pictures as best I have.. This first one I did to show the Warren Duncan, mementos I have, he was a great tyer and person, I used to visit his shop when I was in high School, he remembered me when I visited much later, it was a hoot.. on the back of the card is a scale of weights as compared to lengths and girths for trout and salmon.
Now don't get me wrong, these rods are wrecks, they are not fishable, they came from the family derelict homestead, tucked in a crevous , that had been exposed to the elements for maybe 50 - 70 years. They are only important to me, I have neither the funds or skill to restore them, I hope you enjoy them one of the pictures, the blank is on the top..
Here is a picture of some of the a sorted bamboo I have , mostly junk..
