Hello,
My name is Greg and I've been lurking the forum for a while and thought I should join. I appreciate the friendly and helpful atmosphere of the board and have learned much from it. Thank you all. I am 48 and have fly fished since my teenage years. In last last year I have become interested in improving my casting and in bamboo. I suppose John Gierach has had a hand in that. It's funny that I started by wanting to get a new modern rod so I could cast farther and ended up getting sucked into bamboo. I now have two bamboo rods and am casting farther anyways ... its amazing what practice can do. Books by Gierach, Chatham, and Duncan have been great reads for me and am open to other's suggestions. "A River Runs Through It" is a favorite. It's about a lot more than fishing.
Regards,
Greg
