Dam... No Wonder I fish mostly inexpensive, and non collectable rods!
I'm with the Post Office here in the Denver Metro Area... Yea Yea "I Am authorized to go POSTAL". And unlike the folks that want to come here, I want to get out of Denver! The other side of the hills will do though. Maybe north a peice. The hills in Wyo or Montana would probably be acceptable. One of these days the PO will probably put the boot to me, and I'll escape early. PLEASE pls pls I Promise not to let the door even come close to the seat of my pants. Liking the Full Time RV idea already. The cold makes me a tad uncomfortable. So Maybe I'll see Ralph and Matt in OK someday soon. Karl: How tough is the Meeker real estate market? Maybe I can afford a lot and a pup-tent. rehoppe at hotmail.com

As the name implies I am a pastor in Fresno, CA. I am the Senior Pastor of a small but growing congregation that I truly love. I moved from North Idaho to Fresno three years ago ~~ I sure miss the fishing there but I sure like the people here.

I work at Deep Portage Learning Center, a large 6,307 acre, (200 bed) residential environmental learning center in the lake country of Northern Minnesota. My Title is Director of Development which means I do the begging of money to fund our operation. That's part of what I do but the more enjoyable part involves teaching youth and adults hunting, fishing and conservation education. This includes fly fishing, fly tying, wingshooting, etc...We serve about 10,000 students per year. Besides cane rod building and trout fishing my other hobby is chasing partridge accross MN & WI with my Setters. |

48 - Now have 23 years in October with Uncle Sam's Flying Circus aka USAF. Currently stationed in Montana where we bought a house and plan on retiring at
in the next few years. Trying to make it to 24 -26 years (actually going for a quater of a century), but pushing about forty 18 to 22 year olds is very trying,
not to mention taking a toll on the fishing time. Guess it's practice for when my own two daughters reach the teenage years.
Uncle Sam has been good to me in that I've lived in trout havens like the UP, King Salmon AK and Plattsburgh NY where Bruce Handley was my mentor in cane for about 5 years. To get to the promised land of Montana, I had to do a 6 year stint in trout poor state of North Dakota. So here I am at my last stop and only 30 min from the glory water on the Mo. I write a syndicated outdoor column for three newspapers in southern Ohio and I'm also a contributing editor to a small outdoor magazine. I'm a member and past president of Outdoor Writers of Ohio, & member of Outdoor Writers Association of America. I'm chairman of the Ohio state record fish program, certified Ohio hunter education instructor, member of the local tourism board. Have one son in the Army, (airborne 173rd) who did 11 months in Iraq, home for Christmas, but gets deployed to Afghanistan after first of year. I mostly fish smallies on local streams. (Ohio river tribs.) But do get away to do some serious trout fishing every year. How do I make my money- mostly in the contracting business.

I'm in Dewy Rose, Ga, about 35 miles from Athens, home of the Ga Bulldogs. I live less than 30 minutes from Clark Hill, Hartwell, and Russell Lakes, but I'd rather drive 2 hours to fish for some little bitty brookies. I am employed as a Housing Maintenance Supervisor and am on staff at my church as Associate Pastor of Missions and Senior Adults.
Looking forward to the day I can retire, but it seems as if I will be working til I'm 88 just to afford insurance. |

Im an Investment Recovery Director for a Fortune 100 company, been there 37 years (earned my asbestos britches several years ago). Live in Hoover, Alabama just south of Birmingham. Taught whitewater canoeing as a sideline for over 20 years . Was a test pilot for a canoe company during that time, too . Had access to quite a few rivers over the years. Learned to repair/refinish/rebuild rods and reels as a kid while working in a sporting goods stores repair shop in the late 50s and early 60s.
Love to fish cane in rivers, impoundments and saltwater. Regards and WDE!! Bob L. Electricity is actually made up of extremely tiny particles called electrons that you cannot see with the naked eye unless you've been drinking. --Robert Earl James |

I own a Sales Agency in Salt Lake City. I sell Commercial Playground Equipment; Picnic Shelters and Gazebos; Picnic Tables and Benches = pretty much anything you would find in a City Park or a School playground. Basically an independent manufacturer's rep.
It gets better - my territory is Utah, Idaho and Montana. Grew up in New York City playing baseball and started fishing about 5 years ago. Fishing cane rods - just 1 season. |

I run a photo lab for an aerial mapping company (Photogrametry) and live in S.W. Vermont. The Battenkill is my "homestream" tho the Hoosic, and Walloomsac are closer and so get a bit of my time now and again. The only thing better than fishing trout is fishing landlocked salmon. Some day I'm just gonna have to find my way to Canada for some sea run salmon.

Time to update. My original post was in 12/04. Son number 1 is still in Boston and son number 2 graduated from Ohio State and moved to Tampa, FL to teach 8th
math. Son number 3 graduated in September in International Studies, but still no job prospects (not a great time to be looking for a job). My daughter is now
a sophomore at Ohio State. My children are 4th generation Buckeyes. I still work at Ohio State, but have moved to a project to replace our student systems.
The project will be completed in June of 2009. 2008 was not a good year for fishing due to a broken foot and leg in May. Still recoverying but I hope to be
able to hike and wade this Spring. I have finally admitted that I have too many rods, reels, fly fishing books, and other miscellaneous items related to fly
fishing - My name is Bill and I am a collectaholic.
I have been fishing for over 45 years with the last 20 being fly fishing. I have fished bamboo for the last 10 years. I can't wait to retire (5 years to go) and travel with my wife while fly fishing the USA.
