Congratulations! I'm glad to see that a forum member got it and that it will be well taken care of! Keep me in mind if you ever get the itch to move it
along...

Pflueger 1394 | #303 | ||
|
I am glad no one is paying attention to Pfluegers these days. I just picked up this 1394. A quick bath in Bulldog's solution and she looks great inside and
out. Retains 95% of exterior finish, clicker still strong, has bird cage spool, sculptured pillars, extra spring. Plus I got it for a quarter of the cost of a
Dingley. A friend of mine got a near mint 1392 from a dealer recently. Nice reels. Keep buying those Dingley's!!

Just scored a 3 5/8ths perfect. I have 2 others and have been looking for this big one to balance a 9'6" Granger that I love for bigger waters
overkill for a DT6 backing wise but will feel and sound just right for that rod (or should I say perfect) Shipped from Scotland under 300$ these are pics
from the listing (shipped today and I am eagerly camping by the mailbox) not an old reel but should suit my purposes to a "T" . Will be able to
tell better once I get my grubby little mits on it but I think (I think) the newer perfect with an agate (not a ceramic puts it in 78-82 date range but an
iffy judgement at best from me not sure....don't really care all that much really want to make her sing this spring..
Tight lines -m

good move - 1394s are great.
I picked up a 1492, for what I thought was well under the radar, as well
the rods are never obsolete - the marketing is.

I'm at work presently but now that I've seen the great looking 1394 and 1492. Tonight I'm going to post a pic of my 1392 circa 1932 w/circular line
guard that was not overstamped 1492 when they discontinued the 1392's and converted old 1392's stock to 1492. I'm also doing to show how mine looks
perfectly like bulldogs since there was a couple naysayer while others including experts agreed it was factory done. Great finds HC and bulldog.
Dennis Here's pics of a 1392 born without a circular line but added later when they took the 1392, 1394 and 1396 and added the circular guard and coverted them and marked them 1492, 1494 and 1496. Any naysayers now when you compare it to bulldogs 1492? Please note the wire on the caged arbor to add weight to balance better on a rod.

Rich,
It wasn't over stamped(that's good) and I found that missing pawl. I know you wanted it with the pawl missing so I'm just going to keep it since I would hate myself for sending you something you didn't want. Dennis |

dank u,
it has a drag to stop a freight train as well, cork based. i reckon this is as good as my billy pate. Just the pate is built a bit thicker, so it will hold up to more abuse. normal abuse this will take as well... already dropped one on a concrete floor.... didnt do much to it, but almost stop my heart... greetz from the Nijmegen district huib

yes, it's new - 3" St. George Repro | #317 | ||

it has nice touches, like the 3-screw line guard, brass foot, and real ebonite handle.
not exactly a smoky agate, but every time I'm in the garage smoking a cigar, I tend pick the reel up and pet it a bit, so you never know, it may get there.
