At one time, Ron's Rods had a 3 1/4" LHW A/R Robichaud for sale. Got pics upon initial inquiry. Asked about it again, recently, but got no reply.
Pretty neat reel.
PS Still have the 2 pics. A little blurry, but will be glad to send to anyone interested.

In 1996, Dave listed seven different sizes, though I never actually saw the #6 or #7. They were numbered from #1 through #7 and had frame diameters of
2.5", 2.6", 2.7", 2.8". 3.0", 3.2", and 3.2" with a wider spool. This is for his so-called production reels. It is
impossible to know what was available in his bench-made reels, because he literally made them to your order. A few bench-made models were made in small
batches. The green and black AR trout reel mentioned here occasionally was one of them. However, most were one of a kind and made to meet the desires of the
guy paying the bill. At one time he also planned on making the two largest production models with a modest drag. I think he went out of business before getting
around to do any of those, but I'm not positive about that. He also listed plenty of options for the production models, but the ones I ordered for
customers were never delivered. The removable backplate was the only option that was generally available.

I wonder what happened to Robichaud as a company ?
Why would it have folded up ? Not modest enough pricing ? Brian

BobS & JR Spey,
Thanks for the info my 2.75 must be considered 2.70. I have an opportunity to pickup a 3" and a 2.5. Brian, In a 1997 or 1998 Flyfisherman Mag Robichaud was selling these reels for around $250. I wish I had bought some then since IMHO there as nice as a Saracione and I've owned Saracione. Dennis |

Here are two Robi's I fish a lot. TOP- a "bench-made", A/R, 3" "Trout". Removable front plate and adjustable drag.
BOTTOM- A "standard" 2.8" classic with removable back plate option.

He made at least one 4" spey/salmon reel because I have it.
It has a serious drag but I haven't looked inside. Regards, Bob Fly Supplies aflyshop.com |

I have a 3" Trout, a 2 3/4" removable back and a 2 3/4" AR with an extra spool. With the AR reel I have been able to figure out how to adjust
the drag but removing the spool has stumped me. I will be visiting with Maurice Noel in Montreal next month and I am hoping he can figure it out.

A few years ago I sold on consignment a Robichaud Marlin reel. 5.5"x1.3" and 37oz. It was probably one-of-a-kind, but I know that Dave was working on
a dual-mode version of the same reel when he folded up the business. The owner's manual that came with it said the reel had a legitimate 20# of drag
pressure. Most reels will lock up tight long before 20# or never get near 20# in the first place. Had it been set up for RH retrieve, I don't think it
would have ever hit my used listings.
