(Just kidding.)
PS
Would it be possible to get a couple closeups of the OS reel, perhaps as a separate post?

Handsome pairing, Ron. The reel matches the cane nicely. But the fish--isn't it a wee bit small compared to your usual monsters?! :-)

Thanks. I must have seen that post at the time, but spaced it. Now that I revisit it, what a fetching reel. Very different in appearance (love that black
agate). Young, correct?

The steelhead have arrived in my backyard river, the Cowichan on Vancouver Island in BC. My neighbor and I slogged through a mile of 2 foot deep snow to get
to our favorite pool and we were rewarded with a few beautiful fresh run steelhead, the biggest was a 34 inch buck. What a nice way to start the year with my
trusty old 3 3/4 inch wide drum Perfect, which hit the high notes a few times today. I think I'm gonna like 2009!

got out this morning and hiked way upriver to the place where I caught a wild rainbow right after Thanksgiving.
Wanted to see if there were redds. There was a beautiful protected gravel bar in the middle of the river polka-dotted with redds. Tried to photograph it without success. But I did catch this fellow, who contributed...

Well, of course, we had to be back at the run at first light this morning. Same conditions. same flies, same 2 guys, 4 passes, zippo dingo. Ahh ... steelhead
fishing. Just when you think you have it dialed in, you are humbled. Our casting technique was being carefully observed by a couple of bald eagles, and a
squadron of trumpeter swans did a low altitude fly-by. Just nice to be there. And I have my memories from last night to comfort me.
bow river, if you get cabin fever, pm me. cheers Parker |

David,
You are right, it is a CND, but the Expert series, 14 ft for an 8-9-10. Great rod for this river. Sadly I do not use cane for this application. Parker |

All of our two-handed rods are graphite as well. Someday I would like to try Bob Clay's cane two-handers designed for shooting heads.

#1 hardyguy,
Hi Randy, yes I did get Tyson's reel. Not Dural, but Hyduminium, It is stamped with an "H" and according to John Mathers that means Hyduminium, which is a bit harder, I'm told. Anyways I hope to get it into some fish porn on my old school Sage 7136 this year. I bailed on the city and have some property on the Cow. cheers Parker
