Heddon Imperial from the late 20's; the rod is a Goodwin Granger Favorite 8642 with the "patent pending" reel seat.

Alpom-
That's a lovely combination! Would that be a Winston quadrate? I'm also pleased to see my drawing of the Golden Witch on your Ingvar reel. I've got a raised pillar model with the golden witch logo but minus the Ingvar of Sweden signature. BTW...the brown trout too is very handsome!

3 3/8 Dup. Mk II from 30's and a quite rare semi-hollow 8'10" Troutmaster from Milwards. BTW, anybody out there wishing to part from his
Milward's "Flycraft" reel - the brown anonized model? In case you have wondered about the color of that reel, please look at the reel seat of the
rod.

Afgantrout,
Yes, it is 2/2 7'9'' 4/5 Winston quad. It was also fist time this rod saw an action. I cant believe people buying rods like this one and keep them for years unused, got it this winter finally had to play a fish on the rod. |

Alpom,
I had that same model, made by Jerry Kustich. The only difference was in the reel seat. Mine was of a gorgeous wood from New Zealand...I think it is called Lace wood. But back to the reel...did you get it through Golden Witch or Ingvar Nilsson? The fly logo is interesting to me because I drew a fairly accurate Carry Stevens Golden Witch in pen and ink. When it was made into the logo on the reel it was reversed, ie; the blacks became white and vice versa. I like the look and am very happy to have my art on Nilsson's reel. By being reversed it's difficult to recognize the original pattern. BTW, I love my Nilsson raised pillar model. It's clean and gorgeous in a wonderfully simplistic way.

Great fun!
Same reel, next day, with 8'6" - 3/2 F. E. Thomas Special.
